Happy 6th Birthday Mason Stone

Today is a day that is ALWAYS one of mixed emotions for me.  Don't get me wrong I thank God everyday for my little man, but on this day I find myself flashing back to what was the scariest day of my life.  One that was full of fear and unknowns.  A birth story unlike any other.  But then in the mist of those emotions a little voice speaks up and all those thoughts move aside and JOY and LOVE fill my heart.

Mason was so excited to celebrate his birthday this year.  As soon as he woke up it was present time....

Then it was breakfast time......
Lunch was next.....
Then on to the ONLY place to celebrate your birthday. At least in Mason's mind!
Rootboot for dinner....YES!
Finished the night with SWIMMING!
I can't believe that we now have a 6 year old in the house!  Mason loves to golf, play video games, be outside, dig in the dirt, swim, anything star wars and play board games.  Mason loves to wear "skinny" pants and size 5 is baggy.  He is in Kindergarten and loves riding the bus to and from school.  He got to share his special day at school yesterday with his classmates with Tie fighters and lightsabers!
Happy Birthday little man.  We love you more than anything♡♡♡♡♡

First Day Success!

7:00am the alarm went off and we hit the ground running!  Breakfast, teeth brushed and all of us dressed by 7:45.......
Our Mr. Kindergarten.  He wanted to wear his new "school" shirt today!
He was ready to GO!!!!
Off to the bus stop we went......
We were the first ones there : )
Our neighbor, Levi, also started Kindergarten today and both boys are excited to get to ride the bus together.
On the bus he went.......
No looking back......
And off they went.  We walked home and jumped in the car to meet Mason when he got to school.......(That is the districts tradition)
Picture booth!
After getting him all settled in, confirming his go home plan once more we said our goodbyes and left him for his day.
The whole way back to the car River just kept looking for his buddy and not understanding why he was not coming with us.
but don't you worry by time we got home he was ready to open up his pizza shop!
We all had a day of adjusting and I know it was only day one but we are off to a good start.  Tom and I held it together all but the walking home part.....but hey this blog truly only exist because of that miracle little boy who has beat all the odds....I found myself flashing back to the hospital days a lot today.  Trusting in others to take care of your child is never easy but because of others our little man is one AMAZING little man.

3:00 never took so long to come....but look a bus!!!!
And two little boys!!!!!
We were greeted with smiles and hugs and in true boy fashion all the facts of the day were already lost : )
Over dinner Mason did tell us a bit about his day.....
Mason:"We are learning the rules"
Me: "Can you tell me one?"
Mason: "we keep our hands to ourselves.  Oh and we have different levels of voices, outside, inside and a zero level voice in the hallway!"

They also read a book about the kissing hand and made an "I Love You" sign language project.
Mason's name also got picked to share his special brown bag of 3 objects that are special to him.
Overall he seemed to have a great day.  He did not seem to tired or upset and he wants to go back again tomorrow!

I am so very thankful for the awesome first day he had.  I know that there will be times that are a bit rough, but for now I am going to live in the moment of happy.  Everyone is in bed all ready to do it again tomorrow!  Clothes are out, lunch packed and bookbag at the ready.  Deep breaths we've got this!

T'was the Night Before Kindergarten

And the book bag was packed, clothes already laid out and a snack and a lunch all ready to go.  For in the morning off you go.  The day has come and the bus will not wait.....

You are so excited and we are so very proud.  We will send you off with lots of hugs and kisses.  We will be doing our best to hold back the tears as our dear baby boy grows up even more.

Mason,  we celebrate you and this major milestone...you are so excited and ready to go.  We love you and can not wait to hear all about your day.  We are so very proud of the man you are becoming!

Oh and I guess they were right.....oh so long ago......you won't be going to kindergarten with a C-PAP on : )
