Today River had his two month well baby check up. Here are his stats:
Weight: 8 lbs 15.5 oz <5%
Length: 20 7/8" <5%
Head circumference: 37 1/4 cm 5-10%
All is well in the eyes of the doctor. The spit up issue is just one that is considered "normal". River just gets to sleep on an angle instead of completely flat on his back. We also are getting a referral to a surgeon to check out his belly button. The hole is only the size of a finger tip which again is not considered large but the "hight" of the outie has gotten a bit bigger so best to go see the expert. There is no pain or discomfort so most likely nothing will be done for a while but good to have a great base line. Normally if the hole does not close on its own they do surgery but not till the child is a bit older and bigger so most likely nothing will be done until after River turns one.
River also got two shots today and an oral one. He drank the oral one with no issues (no surprise there) The first shot he cried right away and for a good length of time but the second was much less. As I write this he is snuggling in my arms not feeling very well. I have a feeling tonight may be a very long night. I don't do a lot of assuming that River will react like Mason, but tonight I feel like a brand-new mom dealing with a fussy baby that just does not feel very good. But like everything else we will make it through : )
Baby River is really adorable. How is he doing now? I hope that he's doing fine and growing up healthily. It certainly is challenging to take care of babies, specially when they have health issues. I hope that you'll be able to get through that all soon. Have a nice day ahead!
