Visit to the Island of Sodor

Or just downtown Snoqualmie for the Thomas the Train World Tour. Okay, okay, maybe it is not a world tour........maybe it is.......we don't know. What we do know, is Thomas the Train was in downtown Snoqualmie and we were going!

The day before he pulled into the station it was 80+ degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The day of......... well a VERY different story.

We got bundled up and pulled out our umbrelas to brave the torrential downpour. It rained so hard that they had a puddle in the middle of the exhibit. It was quite an inconvenience for the kids who were really excited to play. Mason could have cared less, he splashed in the water a bit and moved on to listen to..............

The music on the stage. They had a man with a guitar singing children's songs and Mason loved it and danced!

We saw the posters of Thomas and all his friends.

Then it was time for the real deal...........Thomas himself!

Mason did not like taking a photo without us so he was actually throwing a tantrum here ha ha.
Better?
A Graham cracker fixed him right up!

Then it was time to climb aboard and get ready for the ride. Thomas was to take us to the crest of the Snoqualmie Falls and back and Mason was STOKED!
Keeping warm!
The windows were stuck in the down position so it was a touch cool
I tried to keep up with his head tilting........can't do it. He is pretty flexible.
"Look Mom! Out there!"

He loved standing on the floor feeling the movement below him. We were chugging pretty fast!
Getting close to the falls. A great view of the Salish Lodge and the new construction to better harness the water's power.
The crest of the falls.........below...........268 feet of sheer waterfall bang for your buck

Check me out! Love the ride!
Look how far down it is Mom and Dad!
Downriver from the falls. A 300 or so foot cliff is literally right outside the window!
Wave to the cars!
This is Sir Topham Hat. He is the boss of the rail yard on the island of Sodor. Think CEO of Trains that talk. Tom does not trust him at all and refused to take a photo with him. In fact, Tom, while watching hours of Thomas the Train with Mason, has decided that he is the cartoon Andrew Carnegie or J.P. Morgan.
Even Mason thinks he might be a touch skechy!
Little man's first tatoo.......I can only guess others will follow later in life. Thomas sure looks good chillin on little man's arm!

Worn out from a long day, Mason donned his Thomas shirt and resigned himself to bed. Next time he tours little man...........next time for sure.

Good bye CRIB!

Hello BIG boy bed!  You read it right....after being home just over a week Mason has decided he really liked the NO crib thing at Uncle Jonathan's.  After not napping the last couple of days and staying up way way way to late at night we decided to give it a try!  Fingers crossed he makes it though the night and does not roll out!

Stayed turned because we have been having lots of fun these last few days and have lots to share with you all!

Jersey Shore

We are having a blast spending some time in the sun........

Mason loves to play in the sand at the beach

 Playing with Granny and Grandpa

Loving the waves with Uncle Jonathan

 Snack time
 Getting buried in the sand

 Waiting on the dinner table

Decorating for the 4th of July
Picking Uncle Jonathan's first pepper of the season
 S mores.........

 Digging in the dirt
 All dirty

 Watering the garden with Grandpa
 Catching Fireflies

 Letting them go.....
My own little swing...higher Grandpa higher!
 Swimming in the pool
Standing in the raft

We are really enjoying putting our feet up and helping Uncle Jonathan out around the house.  The days have been very very hot so we have been spending most of our time near or in the water.  Mason loves taking walks with Grandpa and playing in the park.  He has also decided that he no longer likes the crib and is ready for a big boy bed........

xoxoxox from the Jersey Shore!
