When I Grow Up

We just spent the last week visiting with Nana and Papa. (more on that soon)  While we were there Mason played "fire" about a million times.  In the game called fire, Mason would receive a 911 call telling him where the fire was located.  He then would get in his fire tuck and drive over to the fire.  He had many assistant firefighters including Nana, Papa, Daddy and Sometimes Mommy.  The assistants were in charge of the hoses (blown up light sabers) while Mason drove.
On Saturday Mason looked right at Nana and said " When I get big I will be Fireman Mason and I will have my own fire truck."  And that will always be his first "When I Grow Up" statement.  Sad to think that we are already at that stage.  The neat thing about it was that it was completely all him and not prompted by any of us.

So once this was said Tom and I agreed that we would buy the "Fire truck" we had seen at the store.  While we were shopping today we got it.  Tom had the task of putting all of the piece together.

Mason did some great helping until it was time to take his nap.  While he was down Tom finished up the task....

 All done!!!!
It even holds water that you pump and shoot out of the hose!!!

 Mason's first fire engine!
As soon as he woke up he was ready to check out his new ride.

We even ended up going all the way to the park fighting fires.

And he is off to fight more fires!

 We LOVE our Firefighter!!!!!!

Easter Train

While we were in Ohio we got to visit with lots of family.  One stop was to Uncle Norman's house.  He has two train tracks in his basement that Mason was able to control around the track.  Mason LOVED this.

If Great Grandpa Wurm was still around, I am sure that they would be two peas in a pod and be lost in his basement for hours with ALL the trains that he had.  Every time Mason starts playing with trains I feel like Grandpa is right there with us.   After visiting for a bit we headed off to the local outlet mall to ride the train.  As we bought our tickets we learned that they were running an Easter Train.  SO of course we got tickets for that.

First we rode the train around the mall and through all the different sections.  Finally it dropped us off in front of an empty store.  Once you entered it was like a whole different world.  First Mother Goose read us an Easter story.  (Mason refused to sit and listen)  Then they called for the Easter Bunny to come.

Mason did not want to take a picture with me.

Here are a couple of the cousins and Mason with the Easter Bunny
So for any of you that know about the money that you spend to get pictures with Santa or the Easter Bunny will be SHOCKED that there was no one trying to sell you pictures or charge you for taking your own.  They let you take as many pictures as you wanted.  They made it such an awesome experience all around.  Each child even got a goodie bag with a coloring book and crayons as well as a chance to get a tattoo.
They were selling bunny ears to benefit the local children's hospital so of course we bought a few : )

The Easter Bunny even walked around after all the formal pictures had been taken.
 Think Mason had fun???
I even got to take a "selfie" with the bunny!

We had a great time and that $5.00 train ticket was well worth it!!!  Thanks to Uncle Norman for the idea and to Wendy, Sydney, Gary and Kyle for going with us.

After the ride was over we got a little treat before hitting the road....

Got to watch a real train on the way home...the roads went from this to
This very very quickly!!!  Crazy OHIO weather!  Thanks to Pa we made it home safe and sound.

Big Step Forward

Today was a very exciting day in the our household......

Mason went poop on the potty!!!!!!!  While in Ohio, he did this once and really started to get into the whole potty training thing.(Thanks Granny!)  Today he sat on the potty twice, with no luck.  The third time was the charm and Mason did it all by himself.

We were Skypeing with Nana, and all of a sudden Mason went to his potty, took off his diaper and sat down.  Not more then a few minutes later he had pooped!!!!!!!  HE had a total meltdown afterward BUT it ended with all smiles and a special dinner at his favorite place to eat.

I think it is safe to say we are officially potty training : )

 Yup... stole my ice cream!
A new Play dough construction set!
