First Zoo Trip

Mason and I headed out in the sun last week and ended up at the zoo.  We had a really good time. Mason loved watching the penguins swim and dive all around.  Since Tom was at work, I tried my best getting lots of pictures but there were a few times that Mason was not very helpful with that goal.  Good thing there well be many many more trips to the zoo!

 Started at the reptile house.
Mason would not let me put him down for the first two stops but then finally warmed up when we got to the monkeys!

A mommy duck and her new duckling.
Then we went to see the African Safari.
Mason was more interested in the fence than the Elephants!

 Then he found a stick.

 Headed to the school house.....
 Saw the giraffes.......
Played in the house....

Moved on to the worm crawl.....

Said hello to the goats for Grandpa...

 Became a turtle....
Finished the day with some more bird watching!

Over all we had a great day and can not wait to go back!

The tradition unlike any other

The Masters............(cue Jim Nantz and the Augusta approved musical intro)

After watching one of the best Masters tournaments in histrory, Mason decided that it was time to get to work. His goal.........11 in a row. Though lofty, attainable with hard work and dedication ha ha. At any rate, we went outside and while I was chipping around the front yard, Mason decided to give golf a try.

He started by "stealing" my wedge and golf balls and carrying them around.
He was checking us out to be sure that when he made a break for it, we would not notice.
 We noticed!
He learned how to address the ball and did a great job.

Once he showed interest in making the golf ball move with the club instead of his hands, the following progression happened...............

The way he holds the club, I am thinking long putter might be in his future.
A couple days later we went to Rattlesnake Lake and we skipped rocks. Mason did a dead sprint into the water and got soaked...........I had told Julie he wouldn't need a change of clothes.........guess I learned my lesson?

We've had a great Spring now that we can get outside and Mason really loves to get out and play. More photos of his play outside will follow. Thanks so much for following along and God bless!

Easter

In preparation for the Easter Bunny we dyed some eggs......

Tom took Mason on a few Easter Egg Hunts and they really had a great time.  Mason got ONE egg and after that ONE egg he could have cared less about getting anymore : )

Then next day Mason woke up to a few surprises!
The Easter Bunny dropped a few jelly beans on the ground and that was the first thing that caught Mason's eye!

Cleaning up after the Easter Bunny
 Enjoying all his new stuff!
We all went to church and afterwards I went to the store to pick up a few things for the afternoon and while I was gone Mason took a dive into a pile of shoes!  He bit his lip pretty badly and it bled like crazy.  Tom had it all under control by time I got home but just to be safe off to the ER we went.  We were sent home with instruction just to flush it out with salt water as often as possible.

Once we got home Mason was fine and we headed to the park to have some fun....and boy did we : )

Mason's lip is all healed and you can't even tell that there was a cut there.  We had a great 2nd Easter and family time together.
