I AM IRON MAN

Mason had his 9 month check up today (he is 10 months old.......don't ask ha ha) and all is going fairly well. He weiged in at 16 pounds 9 ounces and was 25 1/2 inches long. He is turning into quite the little man..........

The only "bad" news is that he is deficient in iron so we have been given some iron drops (that he is said to be going to HATE with every fiber of his being) to give him 2 times a day and so we will see if that helps get his iron count up a bit.

He is continuing to eat well. He has taken to eating more baby food meats, even though they smell awful, and he is even experimenting with disolve in the mouth finger foods and some fruits through a mesh sleeve to protect him from choking. He did have his first choking moment when Dad decided that he might like plum juice. Rather than put some plum juice on my finger or anything intelligent, I figured I would let him suck some juice off the plum I was eating. He got a little chunk (I didn't know it, of course) and he got this paniced look on his face and so I sprung into back slapping action. Crisis was easily averted and he was immediately putting things back in his mouth so I am guessing the emotional toll it might have took on him was nil.

Anyway, not a whole lot else to report. He has been taking a walk almost daily and even got his first action on the swings..........check the photos and we will be back later!

Little man and Mommy picking our first crop of fresh blueberries grown right in our front yard! Dont eat the leaves little man!

Beach Bum

Wanna know what a couple of people do after being cooped up indoors for about 9 months in some of the worst weather in the area in years? WE GO TO THE BEACH!!!!!!

Okay, maybe it wasn't a proper beach as it was more rocks and grass, but it was a lake and not the Bahamas, after all. Rattlesnake lake was the lake of choice for this excursion. We took the little man and Granny up on a beautiful summer day and caught some rays.

Check out the photos............

Hope you enjoyed the photos as much as we did making them. Be back soon!

I'm a Patriot

Happy birthday America! It is time once again to blow stuff up in the name of freedom! Since I don't do a whole lot of fireworks, I would suggest seeking out a service man or woman and thank them for what they do to keep today what it is for a bunch of us. Little man got dressed in his best USA duds and did his best to represent for all of us. Check out the photos below of Mason's first 4th of July. Many more to come little man!

Just about all of the 50 photos of him in his USA duds are similar to this one. He sure looks excited ha ha! Perhaps he will be cheering against Davis Love III in the Ryder Cup this year?

Apparently I only own one shirt. My sister was right!
Even the bib today was occasional. Nice choice Mommy!

Well all, not a whole lot to say other than Happy 4th. Mason is doing well. He is still growing (up to 15 1/2 pounds now) and has been active as can be. For those that have wondered, he has even discovered crying. LUCKY US! It was too much to think that we might get through the whole thing without.....in fact it would have been downright strange so it is actually a bit settling that crying has occurred.

God bless you all and take care. We will be back soon!
